The Bookshelf Makeover: A Quick, Colorful Refresh

This bookshelf project definitely didn’t take as much time (or sanity) as painting our kitchen cabinets, but it still turned out beautifully! We gave it a fresh coat of Benjamin Moore Decorator’s White, which ties it in perfectly with the rest of the house. Simple, clean, and just what the space needed.

Now, here’s where Melisa came in. Inspired by the ladies at The Home Edit, she took all of our books and worked her magic. She organized them by color and height, turning the bookshelf into a mini masterpiece of rainbow vibes. She added some cute decorations, baskets, and other little details that really pulled everything together. Suddenly, the bookshelf went from “meh” to a whole aesthetic!

It’s the first thing you see as you walk upstairs and it’s visible from both the front door and living room, so this little touch-up really brightens up the space. And guess what? It’s actually functional, too! Finding books is easy (even though, let’s be real, most of mine are audiobooks from Audible these days). Plus, we even have extra space for new additions, which is always a bonus.
Who knew that a little paint and some creative organization could make such a difference? The bookshelf isn’t just storage anymore—it’s a statement piece!
